Industrial Designer + Footwear Designer
Carmen Belmonte Sandoval is a dynamic industrial designer with a rich cultural background, born and raised in Singapore to Mexican parents. Her upbringing in New York City and Brazil has heavily influenced her design aesthetic.
She holds a BFA in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and has further honed her skills with a one-year diploma in Shoe Design from the Arsutoria School. Carmen’s passion for footwear stems from her belief that shoes are the means by which people explore new experiences. This philosophy drives her commitment to creating well-crafted and playful footwear.
Currently working for Coach as the Women's Footwear Design Apprentice. Additionally, her professional journey includes a design internship with the Echo Design Group in New York City, where she contributed to the Ralph Lauren Polo accessories department. Carmen’s expertise has also been showcased through collaborations with institutions such as the Isamu Noguchi Museum and the Guggenheim Museum. With her diverse experiences and dedication to thoughtful design, Carmen continues to explore the intersection of functionality and artistry in her work.
